International Gifts and Handicrafts Fair 2023 kicks off in Hanoi
VOV.VN - The 12th Hanoi International Gifts and Handicrafts Fair (Hanoi Giftshow 2023) opened in Hanoi on October 1, featuring numerous local and foreign businesses to showcase their products across 450 pavilions.
On display at the fair are a wide range of products such as handicrafts, wooden furniture, rattan, ceramics, glass, textiles, yarn, embroidery, wickerwork, small mechanics, agricultural processing, and preservation.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Tran Thi Phuong Lan, acting director general of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized that the fair aims to introduce local handicrafts to international friends, boost exports, and develop the handicraft industry in a sustainable manner.
The trade show also provides an ideal venue for handicraft businesses and production facilities to market their high-quality products which fully meet export standards set by the EU and G7 member countries, said Lan.
It also helps local firms to seek additional customers, strengthen trade exchange with importers, and expand markets moving forward, she added.
At present, Hanoi is home to more than 1,350 craft villages with about 176,000 households, accounting for 45% of the total number of craft villages throughout the entire country.
Many of their products have been exported to demanding markets such as Japan, the United States, the European Union, Russia, and several Southeast Asian countries.
The fair will run until October 4 and is expected to attract 10,000 visitors throughout its duration.
