Import-export activities resume at Vietnam – China border gate
VOV.VN - After a three-day break for the Lunar New Year 2025, 752 tonnes of pre-registered goods, including seafood and fruits, were successfully exported through Bac Luan II Border Gate to the Chinese market.
Customs officers handled customs clearance for 112 trucks carrying 368 tonnes of seafood valued at US$8.9 million, and 384 tonnes of jackfruit valued at US$371,840 passing through the border gate.
The shipments marked the resumption of import-export activities at the border gate between the two countries at the beginning of the new year.
At the border gate, the leaders of Mong Cai city of Quang Ninh province presented flowers, handed out lucky money, and extended New Year's greetings to import-export businesses and border gate authorities, wishing them a successful year ahead.
According to the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday schedule, customs clearance for goods at the international border gate pair of Mong Cai (Vietnam) and Dongxing (China) was temporarily suspended from January 28 to February 4.
However, after discussions and agreements between the relevant authorities of both countries, China allowed the resumption of customs clearance for imported goods on January 31, primarily for Vietnamese seafood and fruits.
