Ho Chi Minh City to participate in IMEX Frankfurt Fair
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is set to attend IMEX Frankfurt Fair, one of the leading trade fairs in the world for incentive travel, meetings, and events in Germany for the first time.
This information was unveiled by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism at a conference on February 21 that also announced tourism promotion programmes taking place both at home and abroad this year.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism will attend the IMEX Frankfurt 2024 fair, which is expected to receive about 2,900 exhibitors and more than 3,000 buyers from various countries worldwide.
Following the success of the Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism promotion scheme in Australia last year, the department will continue to organise a series of tourism promotion activities in Australia this year.
It will also arrange business-to-business meetings (B2B) and display typical tourism products and services, as well as Vietnamese agricultural products and handicrafts, to Australian tourists.
In particular, tourism promotion activities abroad will primarily focus on different customer segments.
For example, the Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism promotion programme at IMEX America Fair (USA) is aimed at tourism businesses specialising in organising MICE events.
While, the Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City tourism promotion scheme at ITB Asia Fair in Singapore will be designed for travel firms, hotels, resorts, and destinations.
To increase the effectiveness of tourism promotion activities, the department will work to enhance cooperation with the network of Vietnamese diplomatic agencies abroad and international organisations such as the International Tourism Promotion Organization Global Cities (TPO) and the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA).
It will also step up links with international media agencies such as CNN, Discovery, BBC News, PR Newswire, VNPR, and Heritage Magazine to promote Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism to the world.
