HCM City hosts first-ever event series connecting tourism, trade and integration
VOV.VN - The 19th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City, the 2025 Export Forum, and Vietnam International Sourcing 2025 opened on September 4 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), marking the first-ever event series that connects the three key pillars of tourism, trade, and international integration in a unified platform.

Held under the theme “Green Connection – Sustainable Development”, the events mark a convergence of tourism, trade and integration, creating strong new momentum for the economy.
Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, said the concurrent organization of the three events represents a symbol of harmony in development strategy and vision, underscoring the city’s ambition to emerge as a global economic hub.
He pointed to major achievements that reinforce the city’s leadership role following its recent administrative expansion. Ho Chi Minh City currently contributes 22.3% of Vietnam’s Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), accounts for 22.8% of the country’s total import-export turnover, and generates 25% of national tourism revenue.
The 19th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2025) has attracted more than 520 enterprises and 250 international high-end buyers from 32 countries, with over 30,000 visitors expected. Beyond showcasing tourism products, it also features high-level forums on digital transformation, green development, and startups in the tourism sector.
Running in parallel, the Export Forum on Connecting International Supply Chains serves as a premier trade platform, linking over 400 Vietnamese businesses with 300 international buyer delegations from 60 countries. This opens global opportunities for more than 12,000 Vietnamese products, ranging from agricultural goods to industrial support services.
A key highlight of this year’s series is Ho Chi Minh City’s hosting of the 12th General Assembly of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO). This strategic alignment further elevates the city’s profile as a rising destination for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) tourism and international trade, placing it firmly on the global stage during this pivotal week.
