Gold prices endure plunge amid global decline

VOV.VN - Gold prices in the Vietnamese market endured a drop on January 7 as they hovered at around VND85 million per tael, following the declining trend occurring in global markets.

DOJI Group listed the buying and selling price of SJC gold bars at VND83.5 million and VND85 million per tael, down VND500,000 per tael compared to the previous trading session.

Meanwhile, SJC gold prices at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company were being traded at VND83.7 million per tael for buying and VND85 million per tael for selling, representing a decline of VND300,000 and VND500,000, respectively.

Elsewhere, Phu Quy Group listed each tael of SJC gold at VND83.7 million for buying, marking a drop of VND400,000, and VND85 million for selling, representing a decline of VND500,000.

For gold rings, Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price at VND84.4 million and VND85.6 million per tael for buying and selling, respectively, down VND200,000 and VND100,000 per tael compared to the previous trading session.

Similarly, DOJI saw the price of gold rings drop by VND250,000 and VND200,000, respectively, settling at VND84.3 million and VND85.3 million per tael for buying and selling.

Elsewhere, Phu Quy bought and sold gold rings at VND84.1 million and VND85.3 million per tael, down VND200,000.

On the global gold trading website Kitco.com, the price of gold slipped US4 per ounce. The site listed one ounce of gold at US$2,636 per tael.
