Forbes announces Vietnam’s 40 most valuable brands in 2018
VOV.VN - On August 23, Forbes Vietnam held a ceremony to honour Vietnam’s 40 most valuable brands in 2018.
Forbes Vietnam’s third list has shown that the total value of the brands included has increased 50% compared to last year’s list.
The positive sign is attributed to the strong growth of the securities market, leading to an increase in the average P/E ratio of all sectors. In addition, businesses with valuable brands have made remarkable changes in their product ranges and expanded to new markets, which has been rewarded with greater profits.
Chairman of Interactive Media Limited Company, Nguyen Bao Hoang, said the list of Vietnam’s 40 most valuable brands in 2018 has not seen much change in the restructure of groups of sectors.
For example, companies producing consumer goods still account for a large proportion of the list, while the banking and finance sector has narrowed the gap as many banks have been listed on the stock market. One particular sector with increased representation is technology and telecommunications, with groups such as Vinaphone and VNPT apart from three old names.
Some brands have made their first appearance on this year’s list including Vinhomes and Vincom Retail thanks to publicized financial data listed on the stock market, which has provided the basis for Forbes Vietnam to evaluate the brands.
The 2018 list continued to receive data shared by some unlisted companies including VNG, NutiFood, TH Group, and Trung Nguyen.
The list of 40 most valuable brands is collated and published annually by Forbes Vietnam by measuring the value of a brand through financial data. The most valuable brands are those earning the largest revenues in the sectors in which these brands dominate.
