Exporters to Egypt learn about new requirements
VOV.VN - Local firms will have to register on Egypt’s “Advanced Cargo Information” (ACI) e-customs system before they can export their products to the market, according to the Vietnamese Trade Office in Egypt.
The move comes after Egypt initiated plans to apply the ACI system on a trial basis from October 1 in order to automate the customs process, simplify procedures, and reduce the customs clearance time.
The Trade Office has asked Vietnamese enterprises to quickly study documents, register their accounts and coordinate with importers to correctly fill out information in line with regulations.
Most notably, goods must also be registered electronically at least 48 hours before being shipped from the exporting country.
Detailed information regarding the ACI system has been officially made available at the website https://www.nafeza.gov.eg.
Total Vietnamese export turnover to Egypt during the opening seven months of the year surged by 8.3% to more than US$277 million compared to the same period from last year, according to statistics released by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Of the total value, computers, electronic products, and components raked in US$55.14 million.
