Export turnover enjoys double-digit growth as of mid-April
VOV.VN - Vietnam’s export sector has posted impressive growth in the first months of 2025, with total export turnover reaching US$119.62 billion, reflecting a 10.53% year-on-year increase, according to data released by the Department of Vietnam Customs.
In the first half of April alone, export turnover was recorded at US$16.75 billion, highlighting continued strong international demand for Vietnamese goods.
Some key export categories included electronic products and components (US$3.7 billion); machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts (US$2.1 billion); phones and components (US$1.77 billion); textile and garments (US$1.3 billion); and footwear (US$1 billion).
Meanwhile, the first half of April saw Vietnam spend US$16.7 billion on imports, mainly computers, electronic products, and components (US$5.55 billion); and machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts (US$2.46 billion).
So far in 2025, Vietnam’s total import turnover has reached US$118.35 billion, an increase of 16.68% compared to the same period last year.
The country’s total trade turnover as of April 15 stands at US$237.97 billion, reflecting a solid 13.5% year-on-year growth. Vietnam also recorded a trade surplus of US$1.27 billion, underlining the resilience and competitiveness of its export-driven economy.
