Four more Vietnamese agricultural products exported officially to China
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development recently signed protocols on the official export of chili, passion fruit, bird's nest, and rice bran to China during the official visit of Chinese President and Party General Secretary Xi Jinping to Vietnam from April 14 to 15.

The protocols cover phytosanitary requirements for chili and passion fruit exports, as well as animal and plant safety protocols for rice bran and defatted rice bran used as raw materials. Additionally, there are quarantine, inspection, and veterinary hygiene requirements for raw and processed bird's nest products.
In recent years, China has been Vietnam's largest agricultural export market. Last year, China spent US$4.6 billion on Vietnamese fruit and vegetables, with durian, dragon fruit, banana, and jackfruit being the top exports. In the first quarter of this year alone, Vietnamese fruit and vegetable exports to China reached US$521.2 million, accounting for 47.8% of Vietnam’s total export turnover.
Vietnam currently exports 14 types of agricultural products to China through official channels. These include six items with signed export protocols and six traditional items without standardized protocols. Currently, chili and passion fruit are being exported on a pilot basis.
So far, 24 memorandums of understanding and protocols have been signed between the two countries for the export of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products. Last year, four protocols were added, including those for the export of frozen durians, crocodiles, monkeys, and fresh coconuts.
