Exhibition on handicrafts and furniture kicks off in HCM City
VOV.VN - An exhibition showcasing a range of handicrafts and furniture products opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 19 , drawing the participation of more than 32 local enterprises.
The event is part of a series of trade shows organised by the Investment & Trade Promotion Centre of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC) in a bid to assist businesses in overcoming the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, stabilising production, and seeking potential partners.
It is designed to help local enterprises expand consumption markets, especially for handicraft products and wooden furniture, which account for a large proportion of the southern city's export turnover.
Tran Phu Lu, deputy director in charge of ITPC, emphasised that apart from the great potential of export growth, local businesses are required to devise their strategic export plan for the 2022 - 2025 period by developing a stable supply source of raw materials and renovating production technologies to improve product quality in the future.
Enterprises have therefore been advised to ramp up trade promotion in order to connect to the global supply chain, focus more on product categories with competitive advantages, and increase product value to enter high-end market segments moving forward.
The event is set to last until July 25.
