Domestic petrol prices drop on global downward trajectory
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have announced a downward adjustment to petrol and oil prices, bringing petrol prices to below VND20,000 per litre from 3 p.m. on August 14.
According to the decision, RON95-III is now capped at VND19,880 per litre, down VND190 from last week, while E5 RON 92 fell by VND250 to a maximum of VND19,350 per litre.
Oil prices also recorded notable declines. Diesel dropped by VND730 to VND18,070 per litre, kerosene fell by VND640 to VND18,020 per litre, and Mazut 180CST 3.5S decreased by VND380 to VND15,260 per kilogramme.
The two ministries did not use the Price Stabilisation Fund for this price adjustment cycle.
Since the beginning of 2025, petrol prices have undergone 32 price adjustments, including 14 increases and 13 decreases.
World oil prices have dropped to their lowest level over the past two months. From August 7 to 13, the market was influenced by several factors, including the US decision to postpone higher taxes on imports from China, August 15 talks between the US and Russian Presidents on ending the conflict in Ukraine, and OPEC+’s decision to raise oil output in September. These developments have driven world oil prices into a downward trend.
