Petrol prices rise again, RON 95 surpasses VND20,000 per litre
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance announced adjustments to fuel retail prices, with slight increases for petrol and reductions for some types of oil, starting 3p.m. on August 7.

Accordingly, RON 95, the most commonly used petrol, increased by VND234/litre to VND20,074/litre, while E5 RON 92 rose by VND207/litre to VND19,608/litre.
By contrast, diesel dropped by VND268/litre to VND18,800/litre and kerosene decreased by VND54/litre to VND18,660/litre. Only mazut went up by VND114/kg to VND15,647/kg.
This is the second consecutive increase in petrol prices in the past two weeks. Notably, the two ministries did not use the Price Stabilisation Fund for this price adjustment cycle.
Since the beginning of 2025, RON 95 has undergone 17 price increases and 14 decreases; and diesel has seen 15 increases and 15 decreases.
Domestic fuel prices are rising amid global oil market volatility. on August 7, WTI crude oil was trading at US$64.76/barrel (+US$0.41, up 0.64%), and Brent crude oil reached US$67.26/barrel (+US$0.37, up 0.55%).
The rebound in oil prices is driven by concerns over potential supply disruptions, following US President Donald Trump's threats to impose tariffs on India for continuing to buy oil from Russia.
Previously, both oil benchmarks had dropped by over US$1 on August 5, marking the fourth consecutive decline due to fears of oversupply after OPEC+ announced plans to increase production in September.
