Digital technology and e-commerce week launched in Hanoi
VOV.VN - A digital technology and e-commerce experiencing week was launched in Hanoi on November 30 by the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Hanoi People’s Committee.
Consumers will have the opportunity to experience digital technology and e-commerce during a week-long event taking place in pedestrianised zones around Hoan Kiem Lake.
The event was held in the lead up to this year’s biggest promotion programme, Online Friday 2018, set for December 7, which will see many big-name brands offer big discounts for a special 24 hour period.
In his speech, Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Industry and Trade, highlighted the strong development of Online Friday over the past five years, noting that the event marks a significant venture for the business community and also allows consumers to build trust in e-commerce and digital transactions which look set to become a trend in Vietnam.
The annual e-commerce event has been held since 2014 with over VND160 billion and VND1.223 trillion generated in revenue in its first year, and last year, respectively.
