Da Nang trade connection conference highlights export opportunities

VOV.VN - The 2025 Da Nang Trade Promotion and Export Conference was held on October 2, aiming to strengthen cooperation with localities at home and abroad, support enterprises in deeper integration into global supply chains, and spur export growth for both the central city of Da Nang and Vietnam.

In his opening speech, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu noted that after its recent merger, Da Nang has become one of the country’s largest urban centers, covering nearly 12,000 square kilometers and home to over 3 million people.

The city also boasts key infrastructure including two airports, two Class-I seaports, the Nam Giang international border gate, and major transport links along the North-South axis and the East-West Economic Corridor. These advantages position Da Nang not only as a central economic hub but also as a future regional gateway for goods and services.

Notably, the establishment of a nearly 1,900-hectare free trade zone directly connected to Lien Chieu Port, the international airport, high-tech park, and international financial center has created new development space, shaping a dynamic ecosystem of trade, industry, and services.

During the past eight months of this year, Da Nang’s total import-export turnover hit more than US$5.9 billion, up nearly 13% from a year earlier. Its goods are now exported to over 120 countries and territories, with key products including textiles, seafood, wood items, handicrafts, machinery, and electronics.

Municipal leaders emphasized that the conference serves as a platform for domestic and foreign businesses to meet, explore partnerships, and expand markets, while also promoting Da Nang’s potential and advantages to international partners.

During the event, delegates will be updated on global trade trends and Vietnam’s export promotion strategies for 2025–2030, as well as product and market diversification, regional connectivity, and logistics solutions linked to the new free trade zone. Vietnamese commercial counselors in the US, China, and Indonesia will also brief participants on market developments.

On the occassion, enterprises will sign cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding, and an exhibition will present export products from 39 Da Nang businesses.
