Da Nang aims to become an attractive destination for foreign investors
VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang has set an ambitious goal of becoming a prime destination for foreign investors, organisations, and global partners in the 2025-2030 period by focusing on three strategic breakthroughs, with international integration identified as a key priority.

The city is committed to fully leveraging special mechanisms and policies to attract foreign investment, promote public-private partnerships, and expand regional and international linkages.
In addition, it will prioritise science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in tandem with the development of high-quality human resources. International cooperation is considered a vital channel for acquiring knowledge, technology, and advanced management experience to enhance the city’s competitiveness.
These objectives were announced at a conference on September 26 to review Da Nang’s international integration and cooperation for 2021–2025 and outline directions for 2025–2030.
“These strategic orientations will not only deepen Da Nang’s integration into regional and global economies, but also position the city as an attractive destination for investors, organisations, and international friends,” said Ho Ky Minh, vice chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee.
Speaking at the event, Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in strengthening cooperation. He noted that the Vietnam–Japan Festival in Da Nang has been held 10 times, contributing to fostering bilateral ties and promoting Japanese investment in the city.

It was reported that despite challenges, Da Nang achieved notable results in international integration and cooperation from 2021 to 2025, contributing to its growing reputation regionally and globally. The city proactively and flexibly implemented external activities across various fields, expanded partnerships with both traditional and new friends, and promoted its image as a safe, friendly, and potential-rich destination.
As a result, Da Nang attracted numerous high-quality FDI projects and pioneered new development models such as the International Financial Centre, the Free Trade Zone, and collaborative programmes in education, health care, science and technology, environment, and tourism.
To date, Da Nang has established cooperative relations with 60 localities in 24 countries across five continents and signed 120 cooperation agreements—many of which have achieved substantial depth and impact. The city has also hosted major international events such as the 16th ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Information Meeting, Da Nang Meet 2024, and the 2025 Forum of Friendship and Cooperation Cities, thereby boosting its international standing and expanding cooperation opportunities, especially in people-to-people diplomacy.
Following its merger with Quang Nam province, Da Nang now has favourable conditions to develop into a multi-centered, multifunctional, and eco-friendly urban area. This expansion allows for increased development space, enhanced regional connectivity, reduced transaction costs, and better utilisation of the city’s full potential.
