Da Nang Port welcomes first container ships in Year of the Snake 2025
VOV.VN - Da Nang Port received two container vessels Meratus JimBaRan from SaigonShip and WanHai 283 from WanHai on January 29, the first day of the Year of the Snake 2025, marking a strong start for the port’s 2025 operations.
In 2024, the port exceeded its targets in multiple areas, achieving a 107% completion rate for cargo handling, a 15% increase over 2023. Specifically, container cargo reached 107% of the planned target, a 13% increase over 2023, and revenues grew by 15%, reaching 108% of the set target. Profit margins also improved, with a 9% rise. Importantly, the port maintained stable employment and a high standard of living for its workforce.
The port successfully implemented the theme of 2024, with a primary focus on expanding and developing the maritime and logistics system. One of the highlights was enhancing logistics networks and digital transformation within the company. With intensive investments in automated technology and information systems, the port has positioned itself as a modern, smart port.
Looking ahead to 2025, Da Nang Port aims to continue expanding the port’s logistics system. One major project is the development of the Lien Chieu Port, which will play a significant role in the growing East-West Economic Corridor and nearby industrial zones in Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam, and Quang Ngai.
In addition, the port will continue to develop integrated logistics centers and infrastructure for digital solutions such as Eport, electronic transactions, and automated warehouses, in an effort to further streamline operations and improve competitiveness.
