“Convergence Night" in HCM City connects global tech network
VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City hosted the "Convergence Night" program at Thong Nhat Hall on the evening of October 27 as part of the Autumn Economic Forum 2026, gathering leaders, businesses, investors, experts, and representatives from the global network of Centers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR).
At the opening, Nguyen Duc Huy, Deputy Director of the C4IR in Ho Chi Minh City (C4IR HCMC), said the event provided a space for delegates to exchange ideas and explore partnership opportunities.
He suggested focus areas for discussion, including responsible AI deployment, AI governance, and adaptive capacity building, while encouraging the sharing of resources, practical experience, and operational challenges to shape initiatives for cooperation.
Melisa Atassi, Engagement Lead, Industry and Energy Transformation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Network at the World Economic Forum, noted that the C4IR network currently connects 22 centers across 18 countries. The network aims to boost responsible technology adoption by linking local action with global expertise and partnerships.
According to Atassi, the centers turn global knowledge into local implementation, share regional experience with the international community, and promote mutual learning and cooperation.
Representatives from C4IR centers in South Africa, France, Germany, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Republic of Korea (RoK) also shared their areas of focus, ranging from industrialization, AI, and public sector technology to training and startup collaboration.
As part of the program, the Women in Tech APAC Awards 2026 was held in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time to honor women's leadership and contributions to technology and innovation.
The ceremony, organized by Women in Tech Global, presented awards across nine categories to individuals and initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region for their practical contributions to science, technology, innovation, and community development.
