Agro-forestry-fishery exports likely to exceed US$44 billion this year
VOV.VN - Following robust export growth recorded in November, the agro-forestry-fishery sector is anticipated to rake in over US$47 billion from exports this year, US$5 billion higher compared to the set target by the Government, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
November witnessed the sector gross US$4.2 billion from exports, an increase of 8.9% compared to November last year and a rise of 5.8% compared to the previous month.
The total import-export turnover of the agro-forestry-fishery industry throughout the 11-month period was estimated to stand at roughly US$82.67 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.7%, of which exports surged by 14.2% to approximately US$43.5 billion.
With export turnover inching up by 14.2% to nearly US$43.5 billion during the reviewed period, the agricultural industry is likely to exceed the export target of US$44 billion this year, according to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien.
He emphazized that the sector will record an impressive growth target of over US$47 billion in the event that the export growth momentum is maintained in December, adding that these positive results will serve to create a premise for the robust growth in the 2021 to 2025 period.
