PCC’s 7th plenary meeting discuses, decides important issues

VOV.VN - The 12th-tenure of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee has debated and decided on many crucial issues such as personnel work, salary reforms, social insurance policy reforms, and the election of two additional members to the Central Committee Secretariat over the past five days.

The 7th plenary session of the 12th-tenure of the CPV Central Committee takes place from May 7-12, debating a number of important issues for the country.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chairs and addresses the opening session.

The Party chief emphasizes the importance of personnel management.

The Party leader stresses the need to build up a capable work force, especially at strategic levels.

Personnel management holds a decisive role in the success of the revolution, says Mr Trong.

The Party Central Committee (PCC) has emphasized that the development of strategic personnel is viewed as a very important and urgent project in the current situation, as it is in line with feasible targets and solutions.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, acting on behalf of the Poliburo, chairs the debate on building a contingent of cadres at all levels, especially the strategic level, with the required virtue, capacity, and prestige as is expected of their role in fulfilling their assigned tasks.

The participants elaborate on the virtue and capacity of officials, the finalization of the power control mechanism, anti-bribery for promotions, the policy of appointing non-local personnel as secretaries of provincial and district-level Party committees, as well as the training of and using of young officials.

Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The expresses his views at the debate.

Participants discuss salary reform for officials, public servants, the armed forces, and workers.

PCC members reach high consensus on the issuance of a resolution for salary reforms.

Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member and Standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, chairs a plenary discussion on the project covering the revision of the social insurance policy.

Reforming the social insurance policy is a critical issue which needs thorough consideration so that it will match the salary policy and other social policies.

Minister of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung says this is a common trend, adding that Vietnam is currently in a period of a “golden population structure”, but it will start entering a period of population aging in 2026 and become one of the countries with the fastest speed of population aging in the world.

The PCC elects Tran Cam Tu, PCC member and Standing Vice Chairman of the PCC Inspection Commission, 12th tenure, as Chairman of the PCC Inspection Commission, 12th tenure.

Hoang Van Tra, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the National Assembly deputies, 14th tenure, of Phu Yen province, is elected to the PCC Inspection Commission, 12th tenure.

The PCC elects Tran Thanh Man, PCC member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee as an additional member of the PCC Secretariat, 12th tenure.

The PCC considers and reaches a decision on the disciplinary measure of expulsion from the Party meted out against Dinh La Thang, PCC member and deputy head of the PCC Economics Commission.
