Law building programme tabled for discussion at NA

A draft programme on law and ordinance building for 2019 and adjustments to the law and ordinance building programme for 2018 were presented to the National Assembly in the morning session of the National Assembly on May 30.

During the discussion, 15 deputies took the floor, and most of them expressed approval of the draft programme for 2019 and adjustments to the 2018 plan. The deputies also made recommendations on several issues, including the assessment of the implementation of the law building programme in 2017 and the first months of 2018, as well as solutions and measures to ensure the plan is carried out on schedule. 

Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long and Chairman of the NA Legal Committee gave more information and explanations on some issues raised by the deputies. 

Also in the morning, the NA also heard the draft law on adjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education presented by Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha. 

Chairman of the NA Committee on Culture, Education, Youth Phan Thanh Binh delivered a report assessing the draft law.

NA deputies spent the afternoon discussing in group the draft law on adjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education. 

The NA is scheduled to convene a plenary session in the morning of May 31 to listen to a report on the processing and summary of feedback on the revised draft law on corruption control. The morning’s agenda also includes discussion on some contentious contents of the draft law on adjustments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on Sport and Physical Training. 

The revised draft law on corruption control will be the topic of group discussion in the afternoon.
