Young Vietnamese designer showcases silk at Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026
VOV.VN - Designer Phan Dang Hoang, 25, presented his latest collection Lacquer featuring Lanh My A silk and Vietnamese handicraft materials at Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026, Italy, from September 23 to 29.

This marked the second time Hoang has made impression at the prestigious fashion event in Milan recognised internationally as one of the world's most important fashion capitals, alongside Paris, New York and London.
Inspired by 20th-century lacquer master Nguyen Gia Tri, an alumnus of L'École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de l’Indochine, Lacquer features 42 designs blending simple silhouettes with intricate craftsmanship. Hoang incorporated handmade materials such as leather, velvet, linen, and silk, sourced from Vietnamese craft villages where production is a painstaking and time-intensive process.
The collection is defined by the signature colours of traditional lacquer art - black, red, and grey - chosen to bridge traditional aesthetics with contemporary global fashion trends.
Hoang, a graduate of the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, first gained international recognition in 2022 when his collection celebrating Vietnamese women appeared in Vogue Italy. He debuted at Milan Fashion Week in 2023 and was later named to Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 (Arts category) in May 2024, cementing his place as one of the region’s most influential young creatives.
Held twice a year, Milan Fashion Week showcases upcoming autumn/winter collections in February–March and spring/summer collections in September–October. Alongside New York, Paris, and London, it is considered one of the “Big Four” events of the global fashion industry.
