Winners of international painting contest "Brilliant Vietnam" announced

VOV.VN - A total of 32 young artists have been awarded prizes in the international painting contest "Brilliant Vietnam" dedicated to celebrating and promoting Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage.

Announcing the results on June 11, organisers noted that two first prizes, six second prizes, 12 third prizes, and 12 consolation prizes were awarded to winners under 12 and from 12 to 17 years old.

In the under-12 category, first prize was presented to 11-year-old Ngo Ky Han from Thanh Hoa province for her painting of the Hue Citadel, the former imperial capital of the Nguyen Dynasty for 140 years.

In the 12 to 17 age group, Nguyen Cat Tien, 14, from Ho Chi Minh City claimed the top prize with a vibrant depiction of Vietnam’s Four Sacred Beasts - the Dragon, Qilin, Turtle, and Phoenix.

From hundreds of submissions, the jury selected 32 winning entries and 150 outstanding artworks for exhibition across three French cities, namely Saint Herblain, Lorient, and Paris. The top 20 paintings will be showcased at the A2Z Art Gallery in Paris for one week.

The contest, co-organised by the Art Space Association and A2Z Art Gallery in Paris, aims to foster cultural exchange while introducing Vietnam’s rich intangible cultural heritage to international audiences through the creative lens of young artists.
