UOB Painting of the Year 2025 launched in Vietnam

VOV.VN - The United Overseas Bank (UOB) Vietnam opened an exhibition at the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi on May 7 showcasing the winning artworks of the 2024 competition as part of the UOB Painting of the Year 2025.

The 2025 competition, the third of its kind held by UOB Vietnam, provides an opportunity for domestic artists to put their creativity on display and vie for prizes.

Entries, which are original works created within the past two years, must be submitted to the organising board between May 7 and August 1.

An award-giving ceremony is scheduled to take place in November. The top winner will receive a cash prize of VND500 million (equal to US$19,675), and will win the chance to compete at a regional level for a prize worth up to SGD13,000 (equal to US$9,600) and a chance to participate in a special artist residency programme in Singapore.

The UOB Painting of the Year was first organised in Singapore in 1982, then expanded to Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. It was first held for the artist community in Vietnam in 2023 and this year marks its third edition.

The competition has revealed over 1,000 artistic talents from across the region since its inception.
