Vietnamese students make strong impression at cultural festival in Russia

VOV.VN - Vietnamese students made a strong impression at an international student festival held on April 15 at Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI) in the Russian capital, an annual event highlighting cultural diversity and reinforcing solidarity among students.

The festival, themed “My Country,” continues a tradition dating back to 2007. It featured the participation of around 15 representatives from embassies in Russia and a large number of students from Russia and countries including Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Haiti.

The event featured two major activities, namely a traditional food space and a cultural performance programme.

At the food area, booths offered a wide range of dishes featuring different cultures. The Vietnamese booth made a strong impression on international visitors with its distinctive traditional flavours, showingf care and skill in preparation. Visitors also had the chance to sample distinctive cuisine from Central Asian and African countries.

The second part of the festival was a vibrant cultural show at the main hall, where students acted as “cultural ambassadors,” presenting songs, dances and traditional musical performances. While performances from Central Asia and Africa were energetic and powerful, Vietnamese students impressed the audience with the grace and fluidity of traditional art, thus receiving warm applause.

In his speech Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, a cooperation agency said the programme brings together diverse cultures, with the participation of many international students receiving scholarships from the agency. He expressed hope that more international students would receive support from Rossotrudnichestvo to study at MADI in the coming time.

The event concluded in a warm atmosphere of friendship among students from different countries, contributing to showcasing the cultural identity of each nation to international friends.

For Vietnamese students at MADI, it provided an opportunity to affirm their distinct cultural identity in a multicultural environment and leave a positive impression of the Vietnamese people as friendly, talented and hospitable.
