Vietnamese students honoured at CinemaSHORT Asian Short Film Competition
VOV.VN - The short film How an Apocalypse Ends by Vietnamese students Dang Thuy Trang and Nguyen Le Uyen Thu from Hoa Sen University (HSU) has won Special Mention prize at CinemaSHORT Asian Short Film Competition 2025, held recently in Singapore.
The short film tells the story of a tense battle between friendship and survival. Three teenage friends must make a devastating choice: kill their best friend, who has become a zombie, to protect the world, or risk unleashing a global outbreak by trying to save him.
The film also claimed Special Mention for Best Innovation idea prize at End of Semester Screening (EOS 2025) – the annual final showcase of the HSU’s Media Technology Management programme.
CinemaSHORT Asian Short Film Competition, held annually by Singapore’s CinemaWorld, is a platform for emerging filmmakers to showcase their creativity and talent. It is open to all Asian filmmakers and invites submissions from both amateur and professional filmmakers.
This year, the competition attracted the participation of 699 works from 25 countries and territories across the world.
