Vietnamese singer performs at UN climate change conference

VOV.VN - Vietnamese singer Van Mai Huong has been invited to perform at COP28, the annual international climate summit convened by the UN, which is underway in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

Huong is scheduled to join other international artists such as RedOne, Balquees, AGNEZ MO, Valeriya, Dalia, Arrow Bwoy, BOYS STORY, and Gim to sing “Lasting Legacy”, the official song of the COP28.

The singer shared that she was delighted to be invited to perform at the meaningful event.

She also expressed her hope that the official song would be spread so that everyone can pay closer attention to and take more practical efforts on the issue of global climate change.

The singer finished second at the second Vietnam Idol in 2010. The following year, her first solo track “Neu Nhu Anh Den” (“If You Come”), a pop song with sweet lyrics about love, became a hit among young people nationwide.

Recently, the 28-year-old singer picked up the Most Favourite Female Singer award for the second consecutive time at the Ho Chi Minh City Television Awards in 2021. In addition, she has also featured on a billboard in Times Square in New York as part of an advert by music streaming platform Spotify.

This year has seen several of her hits, such as “Mua Thang Sau” (“Rain In June”), “Toi Thuong Ba” (“I Love Dad”), and “Dai Minh Tinh” (“Superstar”) feature among the top trending songs on YouTube Vietnam.
