Vietnamese mermaids shine at ADEX Singapore 2025 Ocean Festival

VOV.VN - As part of the ADEX Singapore Ocean Festival 2025, the Vietnam Merpeople team has made their international debut with an underwater performance, capturing the attention of a large international audience.

A series of exhibitions and performances related to oceanography took place during Ocean Week and the ADEX Singapore Ocean Festival 2025, held from April 4-6 at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Vietnam Merpeople team, from the Vietnam Merpeople Center and a strategic partner of the International Mermaids Federation (MFI), participated in the ADEX underwater and mermaid performance festival, drawing a large crowd of visitors.

The ADEX exhibition, the largest and oldest diving event in Asia, has become a gathering place for ocean enthusiasts, scientists, divers, underwater artists, and eco-tourism areas. Booths from countries like the Philippines, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, the US, and the Maldives showcased diving equipment from basic to professional levels, thereby promoting oceanography and coastal tourism. Visitors could also try and purchase diving equipment at discounted prices.

Alongside the exhibition, the TekTalk Asia conference provided a platform for sharing experiences from technical diving experts and exploring new technologies. Attendees also had the opportunity to sign up for free trial dives with oxygen tanks, supported by Ren Scuba Worx in collaboration with a diving training center. Additionally, the "Ocean's Call" photo, video, and art competition received submissions leading up to the event.

A major highlight was the ADEX underwater and mermaid performance festival, which attracted major attention. The Vietnam Merpeople team made their international debut, aiming to establish Vietnam's position in the underwater art diving field.

Tram Nguyen, the team's representative, shared that the athletes could wear mermaid tails weighing between 5-10kg and were eagerly awaiting their performance.

Linh Lam, the founder of Vietnam Merpeople, highlighted the event as an opportunity to learn and engage internationally, with the goal of promoting Vietnam's artistic diving standards.

The ADEX 2025 festival concluded with awards presented by the judges and viewers via social media, including the "Best of Show" award.

Founded in Singapore, ADEX has become a premier event for ocean enthusiasts and professional divers, with events held regularly in countries such as China, the Philippines, India, Malaysia, Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the Maldives.
