Vietnamese horror film “Quy Nhap Trang 2” set for April 2 overseas release

VOV.VN - The Vietnamese horror film Quy Nhap Trang 2 (The Corpse 2) is set to open in Australia and New Zealand on April 2, following strong box office performance at home.

According to the distributor, screenings in both markets have been scheduled. The film secured an overseas release less than a month after its domestic debut, signalling positive audience response and an early international rollout.

The film premiered in Vietnam on March 13 and has grossed more than VND128 billion, ranking among the better-performing horror titles in recent months. It continues to hold a top position at the box office, indicating sustained audience interest.

Structured as a prequel, the story centers on Minh Nhu (Kha Nhu). After years of being driven away, she returns to her family’s dye workshop and encounters a series of unexplained events. Secrets surrounding her mother’s death and a blood pact from the past gradually emerge, drawing her into a conflict between good and evil. The idea of karmic retribution runs through the narrative as she confronts the consequences of past choices.

The film’s release in Australia and New Zealand expands its audience reach and serves as a test for Vietnamese horror in overseas markets. As the genre gains popularity, the outcome of the release may provide further reference for producers seeking to bring Vietnamese films abroad.
