Vietnamese culinary culture introduced in Brazil
VOV.VN - Mezanino restaurant in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia is hosting a culinary festival from April 21 to May 8 to introduce unique Vietnamese cuisine at 14 major restaurants across the city.
Addressing the event, Jael Antonio Da Silva, president of the Employer Union of Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Similar of Brasília (Sindhobar), emphasised that this is the first time the Union has co-ordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy to organise a large-scale food festival across the capital to introduce Vietnamese delicacies to Brazilian people.
The event is expected to provide Asian food lovers with a diverse range of traditional Vietnamese cuisine, with all of dishes prepared and served by experienced chefs from the capital, he said.
The festival involves the participation of a total of 14 restaurants, including Same Same But Differente, Makisan, Grande Muralha, Capim Dourado, Fred, Taypá, Gran Bier, Sagres, Mayer Sabores do Brasil, Downtown Senac, Capim Dourado, Universal, Osteria Vicenza, and Casa Baco.
These restaurants will help popularize renowned Vietnamese delicacies, such as spring rolls, fried spring rolls, beef noodle soup, fried pho, chicken fried rice, fried rice with shrimp and meat, and meatball bread.
Vice Governor of Brasilia Paco Britto highlighted the Vietnamese Embassy’s initiative in instructing chefs on how to produce unique Vietnamese cuisine, noting that the event will not only introduce Vietnamese food to local people but also serve as a bridge to connect the cultures of the two countries.
The function will also contribute to promoting mutual understanding and further cementing the friendship between both sides, he stressed.
Sharing this perspective, Ambassador Pham Thi Kim Hoa affirmed that apart from enjoying unique dishes with new flavours, the event will help Brazilian people gain greater insights into Vietnamese culinary culture.
