Vietnamese-Chinese cultural exchange event “The Asian fusion” in London
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese–Chinese cultural exchange event “The Asian Fusion”, hosted by New Hongkong City, took place in London on November 16, attracting significant attention from the Vietnamese community, the Chinese community, and international guests.

Held on the occasion of New Hongkong City’s 1st anniversary, the programme aimed to honour the richness of Asian heritage while celebrating the 75-year diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and China. Representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK, local council leaders, community organisations, and business partners attended, showing strong support for cultural initiatives in the diaspora.
A Rich Cultural Showcase Connecting Two Nations
With the theme “Celebrating the Essence of Asia”, the event featured a diverse and vibrant artistic programme representing both Vietnamese and Chinese cultures.
Vietnamese performers brought heartfelt singing and dance performances that highlighted the beauty of Vietnam’s landscapes and traditional arts. Particularly notable was the fashion showcase “Net Viet Muon Noi”, inspired by iconic Vietnamese provinces and combined with elements of British culture, creating a modern interpretation of national identity.

Beyond the stage, guests enjoyed interactive cultural spaces representing both traditions. The Vietnamese–Chinese art exhibition, the traditional calligraphy area, and the Shan Tuyết Hà Giang corner were among the most visited. Many attendees tried writing calligraphy for the first time, while international guests expressed fascination with the deep flavours and unique aroma of Shan Tuyết tea.
Fine Dining Experience Showcasing Asian Culinary Art
One of the evening’s highlights was the fine dining experience curated by New Hongkong City’s culinary team. The menu featured meticulously crafted dishes such as abalone, lobster, and a fusion of traditional and modern Asian flavours. Each dish was presented as a work of art, accompanied by visual storytelling through dedicated video introductions.
The refined yet familiar dishes showcased the sophistication of contemporary Asian cuisine while preserving authentic culinary roots.
