Vietnamese artist takes top prize for photo of Myanmar women’s special makeup
VOV.VN - A photo capturing the special makeup style of Myanmar women has won first prize at “The Beauty of ASEAN Nations – Vietnam’s Imprint” photo contest, part of the activities marking ASEAN’s 58th founding anniversary and Vietnam’s 30 years of membership.

The first prize was awarded to Vietnamese photographer Truong Cong Luc for his work capturing Myanmar women’s distinctive makeup. The second prize went to Nguyen Thi Hong Lan for a photo highlighting the illuminated Buddha cave in Myanmar. Two third-place prizes were awarded to Cao Thi Thanh Ha and Nguyen Thu Dung for works taken in Vietnam and Cambodia, respectively.
Five consolation prizes were also presented to photographers with entries from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, and Vietnam
The contest, jointly organized by the Vietnam – Southeast Asia Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City (VAFA), the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDÉCAF), and artLIVE, attracted around 50 photographers with over 200 submissions. The entries cover scenes from all 10 ASEAN member states, reflecting the spirit of cultural exchange and regional connection.
The photographs offer diverse and expressive perspectives on Asian life and people, capturing majestic landscapes, iconic cultural landmarks, and historical sites.
An exhibition themed “The Beauty of ASEAN Nations – Vietnam’s Imprint” is currently on display at IDÉCAF in Ho Chi Minh City, featuring the award-winning photos alongside many other stunning photographs. The exhibition runs through September 5.
