Two Vietnamese representatives compete at global transgender beauty pageants
VOV.VN - Vietnam is fielding two strong candidates at leading international transgender beauty contests, with Ha Tam Nhu vying for the crown at Miss International Queen 2025 and Mai Hoan Phuong set to compete at Miss Equality World 2025, both held in Thailand.

Ha Tam Nhu, newly crowned Miss International Queen Vietnam 2025, is currently representing the country at the ongoing Miss International Queen competition.
The 27-year-old, standing 1.8m tall with body measurements of 84-64-90 cm, works as a fitness coach. She brought nearly 100 kilograms of costumes and gifts to prepare for sub-contests. The grand finale is scheduled for September 20.
In the previous global editions, Huong Giang became the country’s first winner in 2018, while Nguyen Tuong San finished second runner-up in 2024.
Meanwhile, Mai Hoan Phuong, Miss Beauty 2015 first runner-up, will take part in Miss Equality World 2025, with the final slated for September 27. Phuong, who won first runner-up at Miss Beauty 2015, is currently taking part in the Beauty of Equality programme.
Vietnam has also performed strongly at this pageant in recent years. Nguyen Trang Nhung was crowned champion in 2024 and Do Tay Ha was placed fourth runner-up in 2023.
Both contests highlight the visibility and empowerment of the transgender community, with Miss International Queen established in 2004 as the world’s largest transgender beauty pageant, and Miss Equality World focusing on values of love, humanity, strength, intelligence, and equality.
