Website Miss FGWU tipped Ngan for top position, alongside beauties from Singapore, Nigeria, Canada and the Netherlands in the Top 5.

She was also predicted to finish second in a hot pick announced by @glamour_universe_official. Ngan is behind a representative of Ecuador who would claim first position of the pageant.

Contestants from Tanzania, the Netherlands and India were forecast to be among the Top 5.

To date, Thu Ngan has completed around 10 days of competition at the pageant, taking part in a series of preliminary events including the bikini presentation and closed-door interviews, both considered key components of the contest.

In the bikini segment, one of the most closely watched rounds, Thu Ngan drew attention for her poised performance, competing confidently alongside contestants from numerous countries and territories. Her solid runway skills reflect experience gained from multiple domestic competitions.

She also impressed observers with her fashion choices, frequently appearing in designs by well-known Vietnamese designers including Adrian Anh Tuan, Thanh Huong Bui, Pham Dang Anh Thu, Do Long and Nguyen Minh Tuan. Voting for the People's Choice Award at Miss Intercontinental is open until 5 p.m. on January 28. The winner of this title will advance to the Top 7 in the final round.

The final night of Miss Intercontinental is scheduled to take place on January 29 in Sahl Hasheesh, Egypt.

Thu Ngan, born in 2003, stands at 1.72m tall. She has graduated from Public Relations faculty at Nam Can Tho University. She won Miss Nam Can Tho University 2022 and the 2nd runner-up in the Miss Tay Do 2023 pageant.

In 2025, she won the first runner-up title in Miss Grand Vietnam and was selected to represent Vietnam at Miss Intercontinental.

First held in 1971, Miss Intercontinental is among the world’s longest-running beauty pageants, drawing more than 70 contestants from around the globe each year. Vietnam has maintained a strong presence at the competition, with Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc crowned Miss Intercontinental 2022, Le Nguyen Ngoc Hang finishing second in the 2023 edition, and Bui Khanh Linh named third runner-up in 2024.
