The information was announced at a send-off ceremony for the beauty queen at sash-awarding ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City on January 11.

The Vietnamese beauty will showcase a traditional ethnic costume called “Châu Ro Cầu Mùa” (Chau Ro Harvest Prayer). The design draws inspiration from the cultural life of the Chau Ro ethnic community, known for its strong sense of unity, close connection to nature and long-standing efforts to preserve traditional values. The costume features three symbolic colours: black, representing Mother Earth; red, symbolising fire; and white, reflecting light.

A key highlight of the costume is that it is entirely handcrafted from recycled fibers, conveying messages of diligence, resilience and environmental responsibility. The design aligns with the growing global emphasis on sustainable fashion and eco-conscious practices.

Thu Ngan, born in 2003, stands at 1.72m tall. She has graduated from Public Relations faculty at Nam Can Tho University. She won Miss Nam Can Tho University 2022 and the 2nd runner-up in the Miss Tay Do 2023 pageant.

In 2025, she won the first runner-up title in Miss Grand Vietnam and was selected to represent Vietnam at Miss Intercontinental.

First held in 1971, Miss Intercontinental is among the world’s longest-running beauty pageants, drawing more than 70 contestants from around the globe each year. Vietnam has maintained a strong presence at the competition, with Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc crowned Miss Intercontinental 2022, Le Nguyen Ngoc Hang finishing second in the 2023 edition, and Bui Khanh Linh named third runner-up in 2024.

The final night of the 53rd Miss Intercontinental beauty pageant is scheduled to take place in Egypt on January 29.
