Thailand festival brings food, films and culture to Hanoi this weekend
VOV.VN - A Thailand-themed cultural festival featuring food, films and traditional performances will take place in Hanoi this weekend, offering locals and tourists a chance to experience Thai culture.
The Thai Festival - Creative Life, Creative Heartbeat, held by the Royal Thai Embassy in Vietnam, is scheduled to take place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel from March 27 to 29, as part of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Vietnam–Thailand diplomatic relations.
The event, now in its second edition in Hanoi, is one of six global capitals selected by Thailand to host the festival, aims to promote cultural exchange and people-to-people connections.
Visitors will be able to explore Thai culture through a range of activities, including traditional and contemporary dance performances, Muay Thai demonstrations and showcases of traditional costumes from both Thailand and Vietnam.
Authentic Thai cuisine will be a highlight, with well-known dishes available for visitors to sample throughout the event.
Besides visitors will have a chance to explore Thai costumes through an exhibition themed about traditional Thai costumes and the heritage of Queen Sirikit.
In addition, the festival will host free outdoor film screenings, including popular Thai movies “The Con-Heartist” and “Beauty and the Beast”.
Other activities include a Songkran-themed cultural space, workshops on Thai handicrafts, and displays of Thai fashion, beauty and lifestyle products.
The organisers expect the festival serves as a meeting point between tradition and modern creativity, bringing the vibrancy of Thai culture to the heart of Hanoi.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on March 27 at the main courtyard of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The event is free to the public and will run daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with an expected attendance of 3,000 to 4,000 visitors per day.
