Talented artists perform pieces by Czech composer at Toyota 2022 Concert

VOV.VN - Talented local cellist Phan Do Phuc and artists from the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra are expected to deliver impressive performances of two famous works by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák in the Toyota 2022 Concert Program in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The event is being held specifically for classical music lovers and will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on July 28 before moving to Hanoi on August 5 under the direction of the talented Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji.

Tetsuji is currently working as the Music Director and principal conductor of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).

Furthermore, Vietnamese artist Phan Do Phuc graduated with a PhD degree in cello performance from Stony Brook University in New York before returning to Vietnam be become the cellist of the Sun Symphony Orchestra in Hanoi.

He has co-operated alongside many renowned cellists worldwide. In 2020 he was a soloist and performed the poetic piece "Don Quixote" by Richard Strauss alongside the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra.

This year has seen Phan Do Phuc become the first conductor of the Vietnam Youth Orchestra, with the local artist aiming to make significant contributions to building a lively orchestra.

During the Toyota 2022 Concert Program, Phan Do Phuc and the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra will perform two classic pieces, namely Cello concerto in B-minor, Op.104 and the symphony No. 9 in E minor, also known as the "From the New World" or the "New World" by Czech composer Antonín Leopold Dvořák.

All of the proceeds from ticket sales of the two concerts will be granted to promising students as a way of supporting them to pursue their passion for classical music.
