Toyota concert set to return after two-year COVID hiatus
VOV.VN - A concert featuring an array of Vietnamese and Japanese talents will return to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City following two years of disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event will be held under the baton of Japanese conductor Tetsuji Honna, who has led the show since its debut edition in 1998.
Renowned Vietnamese cellist Phan Do Phuc will join members of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) to bring audiences master pieces composed by Antonin Dvorak including Cello Concerto B-minor, Op.104, Symphony No. 9 E-minor "From the New World" and Op. 95.
The concert is set to get underway in Ho Chi Minh City on July 28 before heading to Hanoi on August 5.
The annual Toyota concert, co-organised by the Toyota Motor Vietnam and the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO), has developed into one of the most warmly anticipated and appreciated music events since 1998, helping to popularise this academic music to more and more music lovers in Vietnam.
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Toyota Vietnam Foundation in order to fund scholarships for talented young musicians across the country.
