Summer Yoga Festival 2024 to attract nearly 1,500 practitioners
VOV.VN - The second Summer Yoga Festival is expected to attract approximately 1,500 practitioners as it is due to take place in Ha Long City of northern Quang Ninh province on May 25 - 26.
The annual event, jointly organised by the Embassy of India and the Yoga Federation of Vietnam (VYF), aims to honour International Yoga Day on June 21 and to raise public awareness about health benefits associated with yoga.
During the two-day event, a series of activities will be held, including yoga performances which will help to provide a chance for yoga trainers to share knowledge and spread a message of health and high spirits in the community.
The UN General Assembly designated June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2015 on the initiative of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 in Vietnam have been going strong for nine years. It is frequently held by the Indian Embassy and has become an essential gathering for yoga practitioners in the country.
