Storm forces Miss Vietnam finale postponement
VOV.VN - The grand final of the Miss Vietnam 2024 pageant, scheduled for June 14 in central Hue city, has been postponed due to heavy rains triggered by Typhoon Wutip, the year’s first storm.

On June 12, organizers dismantled the stage built over the Huong (Perfume) River after rising water levels rendered the venue unsafe. They said the event would be rescheduled for a more suitable time once weather conditions improve.
The final was expected to feature 25 contestants and a live stage designed to resemble a pearl on the river’s surface, drawing inspiration from Hue’s cultural heritage. In preparation, hundreds of tonnes of equipment and a 6,000-seat grandstand had already been set up.
According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, heavy rain is forecast to continue through June 12 in central provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai, with rainfall between 40mm and 90mm, and some areas exceeding 160mm.
Meteorologists have warned of a high risk of flash floods and landslides in central localities, including Hue and Da Nang.
