Special stamp released to mark Vietnam’s 80th National Day
VOV.VN - Vietnam has just released a special postage stamp set to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the country’s National Day (September 2).

The inauguration ceremony was jointly organised in Hanoi on August 26 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Party Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The set includes one stamp and one souvenir block. The stamp features a modern graphic portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, solemn yet approachable. His kind expression and bright eyes reflect Vietnam’s enduring desire for independence and freedom. Simple but refined lines, combined with the red and yellow of the national flag, emphasise his status as a great leader and an enduring symbol of patriotism, self-reliance, and the people’s aspiration for peace.
The souvenir block displays the National Emblem and a full map of Vietnam, including its maritime territories. The background features a bronze drum motif, symbolising Vietnam’s millennia-long cultural heritage.
The stamp measures 32 x 43 mm, the block 80 x 100 mm, with denominations of VND 4,000 and VND 19,000, respectively. Designed by artist Nguyen Du of Vietnam Post Corporation, the set is now available nationwide at provincial and central post offices from August 26, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
Beyond commemorating the historic birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the stamp set conveys gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, revolutionary predecessors, and millions of heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. It also affirms that after 80 years of development, the Vietnamese people enjoy a better quality of life, the country continues to innovate and integrate globally, and it is confidently advancing into a new era of prosperity and development.
