Songwriting contest on gender equality launched
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and UN Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (UN Women) in Vietnam launched a songwriting contest on gender equality on October 5 in Hanoi.
According to Caroline Nyamayemombe, acting Interim UN Women Representative in Vietnam, the contest aims to create an opportunity for artists, musicians, and storytellers to use their creativity and talent to challenge existing norms, break down barriers, and inspire a more equitable and inclusive society.
Both Vietnamese and foreign nationals residing in the nation, as well as Vietnamese expatriates, are eligible to enter the contest.
Participants can write songs promoting a sustainable and equal future, where every individual, regardless of gender, is respected and free to pursue their dreams without any prejudice or barriers.
The organising board will receive entries from October 5 to November 16 and the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in late November.
