Second Vietnam-RoK festival kicks off in Da Nang

VOV.VN - The Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) culture exchange festival, the second of its kind, opened on September 7 in the central coastal city of Da Nang as part of activities to mark 31 years of bilateral diplomatic relations.

Addressing the ceremony, Tran Chi Cuong, vice chairman of Da Nang municipal People’s Committee, stated that the annual festival would bring wonderful experiences to both locals and tourists, helping them to discover more about Korean culture and tourism, thereby promoting mutual understanding.

The main event of the festival is being held at Bien Dong Park, featuring a wide range of cultural activities and art performances for guests to enjoy.

During the three-day festival, a total of 60 booths are being displayed, providing information on culture and tourism, as well as presenting typical products, traditional dishes, and folk games of both Vietnam and the RoK.

Visitors also have the chance to enjoy free screenings at CGV cinemas and challenge themselves in the Vietnam-Korea Food Contest.

A showcase of Taekwondo performed by Korean club Seung Ri will also be presented as part of the occasion.

The final round of the Vietnam-RoK Talent competition will be held, featuring over 20 performances of entrants from both countries.

Moreover, Korean artists will have an exchange with deprived children at the Hope Village in Da Nang. They are to offer gifts to orphans and put on interesting music and dance performances.

The festival was first held in 2022 to mark the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties. The 2023 festival is jointly organised by Da Nang’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Consulate General of the RoK in Da Nang.
