Russia plans to open regional Russian language training centre in Vietnam
VOV.VN - Russia is considering establishing a Russian language training centre for the entire Southeast Asian region in Vietnam, to promote cultural exchange and strengthen mutual understanding, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Nikolayevich Chernyshenko.

The scheme, if approved, is expected to be implemented through the expansion of the existing Pushkin Institute branch in Hanoi, said the Russian Deputy Prime Minister during an informal meeting on July 24 with Madam Ngo Phuong Ly, spouse of Party General Secretary To Lam, who is currently on a working trip to Russia.
As part of broader efforts to deepen educational ties, Russia also expressed its desire to promote the establishment of a Russia–Vietnam high school in Hanoi, revealed Chernyshenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasised Russia’s support for increasing the number of scholarships for Vietnamese students, particularly in fields such as culture, fundamental sciences, and the arts.
He welcomed the idea of opening Vietnamese language classes in Russian schools with large numbers of Vietnamese students, while praising the diligence, discipline, and law-abiding nature of the Vietnamese student community in Russia.
He expected that the first-ever Vietnamese Cultural Festival, due to take place in Russia from July 25 to August 3, would help people in Russia and Moscow in particular gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture.
Russia values and is committed to realising high-level common agreements, and further promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, he told his guest.
Madame Ngo Phuong Ly, for her part, shared her impressions from the Russia visit last May alongside Party General Secretary To Lam. She also thanked the Government of the Russian Federation for inviting her and the delegation to participate in many meaningful activities in Russia this time to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Discussing measures to promote cultural, artistic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges in the near future, Ly highly appreciated the Russian side for their support of the Vietnamese Cultural Festival to be held at Red Square.
This is an opportunity not only to promote and introduce the unique culture and arts of Vietnam to the Russian people but also to the residents of other countries living in Moscow, she said.
According to the Madame, cultural and education relations serve as a friendship bridge and precious assets of the two countries and peoples that need to be inherited and developed.
She welcomed the Russian Deputy Prime Minister’s proposals, and expressed the hope that both sides would continue to closely coordinate and soon bring cooperative projects to fruition.
