Phuong Nhi finishes among Top 15 at Miss International 2023
VOV.VN - Vietnamese representative Nguyen Phuong Nhi clinched a Top 15 finish in the grand final of the Miss International 2023 pageant which concluded on October 26 in Tokyo in Japan.
A total of 70 contestants participated in performances showcasing their national costume and evening gowns during the final night, with the organisers announcing the Top 15, Top 7, and then the top prizes.
The Vietnamese beauty was named in the Top 15 along alongside contestants from Thailand, Panama, Mexico, Peru, Greece, the Ivory Coast, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, Colombia, Hong Kong (China), Venezuela, and Malaysia.
Phuong Nhi stands at 1.70 metres tall and measures 80-57-88. Hailing from the central province of Thanh Hoa, the 21-year-old beauty first rose to prominence by winning the second runner-up title at Miss World Vietnam 2022, thereby meeting the criteria to progress to compete in the 2023 Miss International pageant.
Andrea Rubio, 23, of Venezuela was ultimately crowned Miss International 2023.
The first, second, third, and fourth runner-up spots went to the representatives of Colombia, Peru, the Philippines, and Bolivia.
The organisation board also awarded the title of Miss International to each continent. Miss International Africa went to the beauty from Ghana, while the contestants from the United States, Macau (China), and the UK won the titles of Miss International America, Miss International Asia-Pacific, and Miss International Europe, respectively.
Furthermore, the organisers gave awards to the winners of various sub-contests, including Miss Angola for having the most beautiful national costume, Miss Indonesia for having the most beautiful evening gown, Miss Zimbabwe for having the best body, and Miss New Zealand for being the most photogenic contestant.
First launched back in 1960, Miss International makes up one of the Big Four international beauty competitions, alongside Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss Earth. This year marks the 61st edition of the global pageant.
In previous versions of the competition, Vietnamese representatives have won high prizes, including Pham Hong Thuy Van who finished as the third runner-up back in 2015, in addition to Tuong San who was among the Top 8 in the 2019 version of the pageant.
