According to President of the Vietnam Writers’ Association (VWA) Nguyen Quang Thieu, the event’s theme is inspired by the verse To Quoc Bay len bat ngat mua Xuan” in the poem Dang Dung Viet Nam” (Posture of Vietnam) by martyr and poet Le Anh Xuan.
The event will bring together poets born during the resistance wars against the US imperialists, after 1975, during the “Doi moi” (renewal) process until 2000, and after 2000.
Notably, this year's event will see the participation of US veteran poet Bruce Weigl with a poem sent to a Vietnamese mother.
A seminar titled The Responsibility and Aspiration of Poets, will be arranged within the framework of the event, focusing on discussions between generations of poets about the aspiration to explore and conquer new artistic horizons in poetry, as well as their responsibility towards the nation, and the humanity.
Additional, posters featuring 20 outstanding Vietnamese poets who have received the Ho Chi Minh Award for Literature and Arts, along with old poetry and modern poems about Ninh Binh will be displayed at the event.
