New club in Laos promotes Vietnam’s Ao Dai heritage
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Laos was officially launched at a ceremony held in Vientiane on the evening of March 9, marking the establishment of a new cultural organisation of the Vietnamese community in Laos.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Bien Thi Ky, Dead of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Laos, said the Vietnamese community in Laos has a long-standing tradition of preserving and promoting national cultural values, making positive contribution to the development of the special friendship between the two countries.
She said the establishment of the club shows the desire to show the beauty of Vietnamese culture in Laos and also carries significance in strengthening community ties and promoting the image of a graceful and humane Vietnam, thereby contributing to cultural exchanges between the two countries' people.
On the occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam sent his congratulations and spoke highly of the initiative to establish the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Laos. He said the activity is in line with the policy of promoting and preserving national cultural values in the new period and helps bring the image of the Ao Dai- a cultural symbol of Vietnam to international friends.
According to the organizing board, the event not only celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8 but also marked the beginning of activities to preserve and promote the heritage of the Vietnamese Ao Dai in Laos.
These activities aim to reinforce solidarity within the Vietnamese community while further deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
At the launching ceremony, guests also enjoyed an art programme and an Ao dai performance under the theme “Vietnamese Ao Dai-Connecting Cultures, Spreading Identity,” performed by members of the Vietnamese community in Laos.
