Miss World Vietnam 2022 pageant launched

For the first time in its history, this year’s contest will be open to contestants who have previously undergone aesthetic surgery.

Preliminary rounds are set to be held in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, and the semi-final round involving 60 contestants is set to take place in March and April next year.

The leading 40 contestants will subsequently be selected for the final round to be held in Vung Tau city in May 2022.

The sub-contests will be livestreamed on the organisers’ fanpage, giving contestants the chance to showcase their strengths. Both judges and audiences will select the winners through each activity.

The contest’s winner is set to receive a cash prize totaling VND300 million, whilst the first and second runners-up will be awarded VND150 million and VND100 million, respectively.

The pageant was first held in 2019. Three contestants Luong Thuy Linh, Kieu Loan and Tuong San who made the final of Miss World Vietnam 2019 have since gone on to record a number of great achievements in global beauty contests.

As the winner, Thuy Linh was named among the Top 12 of Miss World 2019, whilst runners-up Kieu Loan finished among the Top 10 of Miss Grand International, and Tuong San made the final eight of Miss International.
