Japan’s pottery products go on display in HCM City
An exhibition on “Japan’s pottery: a new generation transformed from traditional kiln” is open at the HCMC Exhibition House in District 1 until October 30.
The exhibition showcases products from ancient cradles of pottery in Japan, including Bizen, Tamba, Kyoto, Seto, and Mino to Hagi, the last-named being the land of cultural transition of Japan and Korea.
Based on traditional techniques of pottery making of Japan, young artisans have infused new spirit into these pieces which have modern, creative and inspiring features.
Many items boast their elegance, and provide good decoration solutions.
A message learned from the exhibition is that products from craft villages need to be changed to adapt to new circumstances, but those changes must go along with traditional features.
The free-entrance event is organized by the Japan Foundation.
