Japanese rock band’s performance forges Vietnam-Japan cultural ties
VOV.VN - Japanese rock band Bati-Holic recently put on an impressive electrifying performance in Hanoi, providing Vietnamese audiences with vibrant and unique musical experience to foster a Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange.
The band performed a list of 20 songs which combined the strong rhythm of the taiko drum (a traditional Japanese musical instrument) and the vibrant melody of the three-string guitar. Their music transcended language and cultural barriers, delivering energetic and emotional moments for audiences of all ages.
Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki emphasised that the combination of traditional Japanese musical instruments with modern music has created new values for the music industry which can be accessible to audiences of all ages.
He expressed his hope that Vietnamese people, students, and people in the music industry, would all be inspired by the band’s impressive performance to learn how to renovate themselves by linking traditional music to contemporary music in the future.
The diplomat revealed that Japan plans to host a wide range of activities aimed at promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries moving forward. In particular, a group of Vietnamese musicians and artists will also come to Japan this August to attend the Setouchi Festival.
Founded in 2004 in Kyoto, Bati-Holic has performed in 25 cities in eight countries around the world, including Vietnam (in Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Hue, and Da Nang). Their last visit was 10 years ago during the Hue Festival.
