Japanese cherry blossom, investors to come to Dong Nai
The first-ever Japanese cherry blossom festival is scheduled to take place in the southern province of Dong Nai on April 23-24 with a conference for Japanese investors to be held on the event’s sidelines.
The provincial People’s Committee said on April 21 that representatives from 46 Japanese leading enterprises in such sectors as transport, construction, manufacturing, agriculture and television will attend the conference. The Japanese business delegation will be led by Iijima Isao, a special advisor to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Seventy cherry trees and 5,000 blossom branches will be transported from Japan’s Hokkaido prefecture to Dong Nai for the festival. They will be on show alongside Vietnamese typical flowers, such as chrysanthemum and lotus, reflecting the harmony of the two Asian cultures.
Many Japanese and Vietnamese art troupes will be sharing the stage at the event.
Similar festivals took place in Ha Long City in the northern province of Quang Ninh on March 18-21, and in Hanoi on April 16-17.
